The Food Research and Testing Laboratory is a center within Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Science. Initially established as a laboratory program in 1997, the FRTL was located on the 16th floor of Faculty of Science’s MHMK building with more than 1,200 sq. m. space. The program was partially funded by the Ministry of Industry for its chemical and molecular instruments. Further funding from the Thailand-Japan Technology Transfer Project helped the laboratory obtain chemical and microbiological instruments, computer networking, and relevant personnel training. FRTL began testing services in April 2004 and was officially opened on June 6, 2005.
