The faculty of science, Chulalongkorn university was one of the oldest faculties developed from the branch of science in King Chulalongkorn (Rama V)’s Civil service school in 1910 in which King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) has elevated later to become Chulalongkorn University in 1916.
The academic programs at that time were divided into 4 branches: Engineering, Political science, Teachery Education and Science. |
In 1918, the branches of Teachery Education and Science were combined into the faculty of Science and Arts. Academic programs were divided into more and more branches and finally the faculty of science and arts were divided in 1943. However, it is apparently that the faculty of science has born the responsible for producing scientific personnel to serve the country and social for a long period of time and already brought about thousands of graduates. These graduates have contacts, social intercourse and divided themselves by the year of graduate. Gathering together in so far as they could, they have become the alumni of science in 1960 and so far.
The faculty of science, Chulalongkorn University has presently much prospered and developed. Thousands of students have joined the faculty each year. Familiarity, collaboration, understanding and harmony between present students, alumni and the faculty seem less and less. Accordingly and with many other causes, alumni, present students and staff are agreed that holding the alumni association will drive and propel the faculty to be more powerful. Troubles will be diminished. The alumni association of the faculty of science, Chulalongkorn University has been founded in 1984 in which the faculty was also celebrated 50th year science graduates.
