Department of Biochemistry has offered M.Sc. in Biochemistry since 1964, being affiliated as a program in the department of Chemistry. In 1969, the department was officially established and has earned its reputation of being the first national institute to train undergraduate students majoring in Biochemistry. At present, the department of Biochemistry offers programs leading to the degrees of B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Biochemistry. The department has also taken part in ohter graduate programs including Biotechnology and Biological sciences which have evolved from multidisciplinary collaboration among various departments. Furthermore, Biochemistry department has been serving students from other branches of science and medical students with prerequisite basic biochemistry courses. |
