Overview


 Food production and environment protection are two of the most critical areas that will shape the future of human well-being. The current food production may not sufficiently support the consumption demand of the world’s future population. As the demand escalates every year, the necessity to keep up food production has become increasingly crucial.

 While the alarming rate of global destruction of pristine natural forests and woodlands rises in order to fulfill the production needs, the environment bears all the expense and inevitably suffers disastrous and irreparable consequences. 

 At the same time, the livelihood of humans and wildlife is directly affected by the resulting ecological decline.  However, with the knowledge of science and the sense of self-preservation, humans have been awoken by the urgent need to solve both problems simultaneously.  

 Agriculture is key in both adequate food production and wise utilization of natural resources. Various technologies have been developed to help solve a wide array of problems. 

 Agricultural Technology is a discipline of applied sciences that makes use of plants, animals, and microbes in the areas of food production for the benefits of human, yet in a way that protects the environment and conserves natural resources.  Modern agricultural technology involves applications of biotechnology in plants, animals, forestry, fishery, and agricultural industry.
